The integrator's guide to managing multiple SignM8 clients
If you're an AV integrator managing digital signage for multiple clients, SignM8 was built with you in mind. This guide explains the integrator-specific features — from the partner dashboard to remote support — and how to structure your deployment for maximum efficiency.
TL;DR
As an integrator, you get one login to manage all customers. Create a tenant per client, pre-provision their screens, monitor everything from a unified dashboard, and support any issue remotely without a site visit.
What makes an integrator account different?
When you register as an integrator, SignM8 enables a second tier of management above your customers:
| Feature | Customer account | Integrator account | |---|---|---| | Manage own screens | ✓ | ✓ | | Multiple customer tenants | — | ✓ | | Integrator dashboard | — | ✓ | | Impersonate customers | — | ✓ | | Wholesale pricing | — | ✓ |
Your integrator dashboard aggregates all customers in one view — their health status, screen counts, billing status, and recent activity.
Step 1: Set up your integrator account
Sign up at signm8.com.au/register. During onboarding, select "I'm an integrator managing screens for clients". This triggers integrator-mode setup and unlocks the partner dashboard.
If you already have a direct account, contact us at [email protected] to have it upgraded to integrator status.
Step 2: Add your first customer tenant
From your integrator dashboard, click Customers → Add customer. You'll be asked for:
- Business name — the client's trading name
- Plan — which pricing tier they're on
- Screen limit — the maximum number of screens for this client
- Admin email — their login for their own dashboard (optional — you can manage without giving them access)
Each customer gets their own isolated environment. Their content, users, screens, and data are completely separate from other customers and from your integrator account.
Step 3: Pre-provision screens for deployment
One of the most powerful integrator workflows is serial pre-provisioning. Instead of having to be on-site to pair a screen via QR code, you register screens by serial number before they leave your warehouse.
- Open the customer's tenant (via impersonation or direct management)
- Go to Screens → Pre-provision
- Enter the screen's serial number from the hardware sticker
- The system creates a pending registration record
When the device boots on-site for the first time, it automatically claims itself to the correct tenant — no QR scan, no callbacks from the client.
Tip: Pre-provision all screens before delivery day. The installation becomes as simple as "plug it in, connect to Wi-Fi."
Step 4: Use impersonation for remote support
When a client reports a problem, you don't need to ask for their password or drive to their site. Use Integrator Impersonation:
- In your integrator dashboard, find the customer
- Click Support → Enter as customer
- You're now operating as that customer's admin
- Every action you take is logged in the audit trail
The audit log shows: who impersonated, which customer, at what time, and what actions were taken. This gives you accountability and a support history.
Step 5: Monitor the whole fleet
Your integrator dashboard has a unified fleet view showing:
- Screen health — online/offline/degraded status for every screen across every customer
- Alert summary — active alerts grouped by customer
- Billing status — which customers are on trial, active, or past due
- Screen counts — how many active screens per customer
Set up a morning habit of checking this view. You'll often spot issues before clients notice them.
White-label branding
Integrators can apply custom branding to the customer-facing dashboard so it reflects your business rather than SignM8 directly. In Integrator Settings → Branding you can:
- Upload your logo (displayed in the sidebar and email notifications)
- Set your brand name (replaces "SignM8" in the customer dashboard header)
- Choose a primary colour that matches your brand
- Configure a custom domain so customers access the dashboard at your own URL (e.g.
signage.yourcompany.com.au)
White-labelling is available on the Integrator Pro plan and above.
Billing and wholesale pricing
As an integrator, your billing works differently from direct customers:
- You are billed for all screens under your integrator account (across all customer tenants)
- Your clients are billed through you — you handle the pass-through at whatever rate makes sense for your business
- Wholesale rates are available for integrators managing 10+ screens — contact us to negotiate
This model lets you bill clients at retail pricing while paying wholesale, protecting your margin.
Xero integration
SignM8 connects directly to Xero to automate your billing workflows. Once connected (via Integrator Settings → Billing → Connect Xero):
- Monthly invoices are automatically created in Xero for each active customer
- Payments received in SignM8 are reconciled against the corresponding Xero invoice
- You can view connection status and last sync time in the billing settings
To connect, you'll need a Xero account with invoicing permissions. The connection uses OAuth 2.0 — no passwords are stored by SignM8.
Best practices for integrators
Name your screens clearly
Use a consistent naming convention: [ClientCode]-[Location]-[Zone] e.g. ACME-LOBBY-01. This makes the unified dashboard far easier to read.
Create content templates per customer
Before handing over a customer account, set up their initial content library, layout templates, and scheduling rules. This reduces their day-to-day support calls.
Set alert rules for every customer
Enable default alert rules (offline, high temperature, low storage) for every customer tenant on deployment. You'll receive alerts on their behalf.
Document your pre-provisioned serial numbers
Keep a spreadsheet of serial numbers, customer name, and physical location for every screen you ship. This makes troubleshooting dramatically faster.
Frequently asked questions
Can a customer log in and manage their own screens? Yes. You can give them their own login credentials. They'll only see their own tenant — they can't see your other customers or your integrator dashboard.
What if a customer wants to manage their own billing? You can hand over billing management to the customer. They'll enter their own payment details and be billed directly. Contact us to arrange this.
Can I have multiple team members in my integrator account? Yes. Invite additional users from Settings → Users. Assign the integrator_admin role to give them full integrator dashboard access.
