Getting started
- What is SignM8?
- SignM8 is an integrator-first, multi-tenant digital signage platform. It lets you deploy, manage, and monitor commercial TV screens — handling content, scheduling, menu boards, fleet monitoring, and billing in one place.
- Do I need an integrator to use SignM8?
- No. You can create a direct account and manage your own screens without any integrator involvement. Integrators are optional — they're useful if you want a managed service for installation and ongoing support.
- How long is the free trial?
- Every new account includes a 14-day free trial with full platform access. No credit card is required to start.
- What happens when my trial ends?
- You'll need to enter billing details to continue. If you don't, your screens are suspended (not deleted) until you do. Your content and settings are preserved.
Screens & hardware
- Which screens does SignM8 support?
- LG webOS commercial displays are supported first via a native IPK app. An Android fallback player supports any Android device including Samsung commercial displays, Raspberry Pi, and Android sticks.
- How do I pair a screen?
- Install the SignM8 app on your LG webOS or Android device. In your dashboard, open the provisioning page and scan the QR code shown on the screen. Pairing takes less than a minute.
- Can I pre-provision screens before delivery?
- Yes. Integrators can register screens by serial number before they arrive on site. When the device first boots, it automatically claims itself to the correct tenant.
- What happens if a screen loses internet connectivity?
- The screen will continue playing cached content. When connectivity is restored, it will sync any schedule changes and resume heartbeat reporting.
Content & scheduling
- What content types can I display?
- Images (JPG, PNG, GIF), videos (MP4), PDFs, web URLs, HTML5 bundles, and IPTV/HDMI input sources. All managed from the content library.
- Can I show different content at different times?
- Yes. Schedule any layout to play on specific days and time ranges. Scheduling is DST-aware for all Australian time zones, and the platform checks for schedule conflicts automatically.
- How do zone layouts work?
- A layout divides the screen into zones. Each zone can show a playlist, a ticker bar, a popup overlay, or a full-screen takeover. Built-in templates include L-bar, T-bar, top strip, right quarter, left quarter, 4-grid, and full-screen.
Menu boards
- How do I update my menu board?
- Open the menu board editor, make your changes (add items, update prices, change categories), and click Publish. Your screens update within seconds — no design software needed.
- What menu board templates are available?
- Currently Modern Dark and Bistro Light. New templates are planned for future releases.
Emergency broadcast
- What is the emergency broadcast feature?
- Emergency broadcast lets you push a priority message to every screen in your venue instantly. The message overrides whatever is currently playing.
- Does staff need a SignM8 account to send a broadcast?
- No. Each venue gets a unique broadcast token (URL). Staff can trigger a broadcast by visiting that URL — no platform login required.
Integrators
- What is an integrator account?
- An integrator account lets you manage multiple customer tenants under one login. You get access to an integrator dashboard showing all customers, a billing overview, and the ability to impersonate any customer tenant for support.
- Is there wholesale pricing for integrators?
- Yes. Integrators can negotiate wholesale rates below the published per-screen prices. Contact us to discuss partner pricing.
- How does integrator impersonation work?
- From your integrator dashboard, you can enter any customer tenant as that tenant's admin for support or configuration purposes. All impersonation sessions are written to an audit log.
Billing
- How is billing calculated?
- You're charged per active (paired and not revoked) screen on your account. The rate depends on your total screen count: AUD $18 for 1–10 screens, $16.20 for 11–50, $14.40 for 51+.
- Is there an annual billing discount?
- Yes — paying annually upfront gives a 10% discount on the per-screen rate across all tiers.
- Can I cancel at any time?
- Yes. You can cancel your subscription from the billing section of your dashboard. Access continues until the end of your current billing period.
